Beaumont Chess Club is open to all Beaumont students. Beaumont Chess Club is open to every level of player.

The Chess Club is a before school event for children to hone their chess skills. It is open to all Beaumont students - beginners, intermediates, and experts!

At Chess Club, players will learn chess basics, tricks and strategies, approaches and tactics. Chess matches are played every meeting.

Beaumont Chess Club plans to work with beginner chess players at each session to teach basic piece movement, chess notation and begin game play. In addition, we plan to arrange players in groups according to ability. Hopefully, we will be able to spend a short time each session teaching chess strategy to the whole group.

Beaumont Chess Club would like to have 2 or 3 parents as supervisors for each session. Usually, we have at least 40 players, so parent volunteers are crucial to the smooth running of the club. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY CHESS TO SUPERVISE!

Beaumont Chess Club is asking for a $10 per player contribution, good for the 2010-2011 chess season. Please make all checks out to Beaumont HSA.

Attendance is not mandatory at every meeting, try your best. Arriving at 7:30 am is not mandatory, try your best.
