Disclaimer: This section is provided as a service to our parents. While we do our best to keep up-to-date, some information and procedures described here may be updated or changed by the school or district School Board without our knowledge.

Our school cafeteria operates under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. Menus are published in the Bear Facts, posted in the school, are on the district web site here (PDF), and are shown on the T/E school district's cable channel. In addition to the published menu, students can substitute a cold sandwich or pizza (and other special offerings) for the main dish.

Our school uses a "point of sale" system in the cafeteria. This eliminates the need to carry cash each day and helps to alleviate lines at the cashier. This computerized debit system tracks students' meals and snack purchases and payments. Each student is assigned a 4-digit PIN number to access his/her account. This PIN will carry through his/her years in the school district.

Money can be deposited in your child's account by cash or check (payable to Beaumont Cafeteria) in an envelope with your child's name and room number on it. If a check is returned, any service charge from the bank will be passed on to the parent. You can also use a credit card for payment using the Paypams website; there is a fee to use this service.

When a student does not have money in their account for lunch he/she may charge lunch or milk only. If your child charges, please try to repay this debt the next day. Encourage your child to keep up to date with the balance in his/her account. Charging is a privilege and should be used only on an occasional basis.

Both the breakfast and lunch programs operate under the "Offer vs. Serve" option under which students may choose at least three of the five lunch components and three of the four breakfast components. Students are encouraged to take all components.

Breakfast is available from the time the buses arrive until students must report to their core class. The cost of student breakfast is $1.25 (or $5.50 for 5 meals and $11.00 for ten.) The breakfast includes 1/2 cup of fruit or juice, a total of 2 ounces of bread, cereal or meat/cheese, and 1/2 pint of milk.

The cost of a student lunch is $2.10 (or $10.50 for 5 meals or $21.00 for 10 meals.) The lunch includes 2 ounces of meat or meat alternate, 3/4 cup of at least two different fruits and or vegetables, and a 1/2 pint of milk. There are five entrees to choose from each day.

The cafeteria offers skim, low fat, and whole white milk and low fat chocolate milk with lunch as well as a la carte ($.55). Healthy snacks and desserts are offered on an a la cart basis, after the students have had time to eat their lunch. Some of the popular items are: water ($.50); soft pretzel ($.50); ice cream ($.50-.65); cookie ($.50); bagged snacks--baked only, no trans fats ($.50; and fresh fruit ($.75).

Parents may put restrictions on their child’s account by sending a letter to the Cafeteria Coordinator in your school. The system can block a la carte purchases, can limit dollar amount of daily expenditures on a la carte purchases, or can permit a la carte purchases on certain days of the week. The system has no way to limit a la carte purchases based on the number of times a week or for specific items.

Information regarding free and reduced price lunch applications is available either in the school guidance office or the Food Service Office at 610-644-6600. Students approved for these meals use the same type of POS account as the other students.

More information is available at the district food services website.
