Community Service at Beaumont
Post-Holiday Toy Cleanup
Details: Too many toys after the holidays? Just a reminder that Beaumont is Terracycling old toys and games in partnership with Hasbro, including board games, plush toys, actions figures and dolls, and electronic toys; click here for a list of common Hasbro toys but other toys in these categories are accepted. Please remember to remove any batteries. The materials from the toys will be separated, processed and recycled to make new products. Look for the collection box in the lobby.
Ongoing Terracycle Recycling Program sponsored by the Beaumont HSA
Dates: August 2019 - June 2020
Details: Beaumont HSA's Community Service Committee is pleased to announce the launch of several Terracycling collection programs. Terracycle is a company that collects waste that would otherwise end up in landfills, and instead recycles or "upcycles" it into new products like lunch bags, backpacks, and scrapbooks (for more information, go to www.terracycle.com). With each qualifying shipment we send in, Beaumont can earn Terracycling points to redeem on their website. Beaumont is collecting the following specific waste streams: 1. Juice Pouches (any brand) 2. Oral Care Waste (any brand) including: empty toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, toothbrush packaging, toothpaste boxes, floss boxes (Note: floss picks are NOT accepted) 3. Crayola-brand markers and 4. Crayons. Please encourage your child to "Terracycle" their empty juice pouches (and straws) at lunch by placing them in the collection box in the cafeteria instead of the garbage can, and send in your oral care waste, Crayola-brand markers and crayons for the collection bin in the lobby.
In addition to collecting empty juice pouches, oral care waste, crayons and Crayola-brand markers, Beaumont will also be Terracycling all foil-lined bar wrappers, including energy bars, granola bars, cereal bars, and protein bars (please, no clear plastic wrappers). Please encourage your child to place these empty foil-lined wrappers in the specially marked bin in the cafeteria; click here for more information.
The more we collect, the more we help our planet and Beaumont. For questions, please contact Valerie Cheng (Tsang).
