SCHOOL CLOSED - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5

School will be closed on Wednesday, October 5 in observance of Yom Yippur.

BEAUMONT CELEBRATES HISPANIC/LATIN X HISTORY MONTH

On October 3, all of our grade levels will have the opportunity to celebrate Hispanic/LatinX History Month with a performance by Samba to Salsa.  Students will learn about the origins, history, and classic rhythms of samba, salsa music and more!  Through their performance, Samba to Salsa will explore and celebrate the traditions of Latin percussion and give students the opportunity to connect the music with Latin culture.  Thank you to the HSA and cultural arts committee for sponsoring this fun event for our students!

MOVIE NIGHT - FRIDAY, OCT 7

Beaumont Elementary HSA is holding it's first Movie Night of the year on Friday, October 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Minions Rise of Gru will be shown on the BES Cafeteria "Big Screen." This event is open to our BES families. Please have your child bring a blanket and/or pillow / yoga mat to sit on at the event  as we will not be able to allow sharing! Each attendee will receive a bag of popcorn, and we will have candy and other snacks for purchase. We are asking at least one adult to stay per family, and look forward to enjoying the movie together.

The discounted pre-registration rate ($10 per child, $25 for families of 3+) closes on Wednesday, October 5. Parents are not required to purchase a ticket. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $12 per child. The proceeds generated from this event will go toward new playground equipment for our Beaumont Bears.

HSA MEETING - THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6

The HSA October Meeting will take place on Thursday, October 6 from 10-11:30am at Beaumont.  As always, parents and guardians are encouraged to attend. A meeting agenda will be sent in a separate email.

HELP SAVE THE PLAYGROUND PUMPKIN

A pumpkin plant has started to flower near the playground. In an effort to save the plant from being stepped on or touched, the BES Gardening Group is asking if anyone has fencing they are willing to donate. If you can donate a piece of fencing to save the pumpkin, please reach out to Cara Rash, cara.lynch@gmail.com.

THE BEAR FUND

Beaumont HSA has created to Bear Fund in order raise money for contributions towards our school. This year we are excited to campaign for the replacement of the Spider playground equipment. Please consider making our Beaumont HSA a recipient of your charitable contribution.  The Beaumont HSA is a registered 501(c)(3) organization so 100% of your gift is tax deductible. You could possibly double your gift if your company has a matching gifts program! Thank you so much for your support and contributions!

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Used Bike Drive in Conjunction with Zummo Bikes of Berwyn

The Beaumont Community Service Committee is thrilled to be able to offer Beaumont students a chance to give back to the local community with an in-person service opportunity in conjunction with non-profit Zummo Bikes of Berwyn.

On Saturday, October 15th, Beaumont students and their parents will collect bikes donated by the school community in the carpool circle during a 2-4 hour drop-off window (time TBD). Zummo will then take the donated bikes, their kid mechanics will refurbish them at Zummo’s shop in Berwyn, and Zummo will give the bikes to children who earn them in school programs with a focus on Norristown elementary schools students.

We Need YOU, Beaumont Bears! We will be looking for elementary school volunteers to help with bike in-take at the carpool circle on October 15th, for bike clean-up assistants, and even for thank you note authors to help us express our gratitude to the donors. Parents must remain on school grounds with their children on the day of the event and sign-ups will be forthcoming.

We also need physical donations to make this event a success! Zummo is able to accept bikes of all sizes and types, baby seats, bells, helmets and bike accessories, so start going through those garages and basements looking for outgrown items!

Stay tuned to future Blasts for further details about this exciting event!
