ASSISTANCE FOR BEAUMONT FAMILY AFFECTED BY HOUSE FIRE
Sadly, one of our Beaumont families was impacted by a house fire last week, resulting in the loss of their home and most possessions. We would love to come together as a school community to support this family during their time of need. Mrs. Root, Guidance Counselor at BES, will help facilitate getting any donations the school community may wish to offer to this family. They would be grateful for gift cards, especially to Acme or Target, as well as any clothing or shoes people may have in the following sizes:

USED BIKE DRIVE TO BENEFIT ZUMMO BIKES THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15TH

The Beaumont Community Service Committee is thrilled to offer Beaumont students a chance to give back to the local community with an in-person service opportunity in conjunction with non-profit Zummo Bikes of Berwyn.

This Saturday, October 15th, Beaumont students and their parents will collect bikes and bike accessories donated by the community in the BES carpool circle from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Zummo will take the donated bikes to their Berwyn shop where their kid mechanics will refurbish them. Zummo will then donate the bikes to children who earn them in school programs, with a focus on Norristown elementary school students.

We Need YOU, Beaumont Bears! We are looking for elementary school volunteers to help with bike in-take and bike clean-up duties at the carpool circle on October 15th. Parents must remain on school grounds with their children on the day of the event. See this Sign-up Genius to register for a time slot:

We also need physical donations to make this new event a success! Zummo is able to accept bikes of all sizes and types, baby seats, bells, helmets and bike accessories. Start going through those garages and basements looking for outgrown biking items and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

CARING BEARS COMMITTEE

A few years ago, Beaumont launched a group called the Beaumont Caring Bears. This committee helps our HSA recognize and/or support members of our school community who may be going through life challenges or who may have achieved something extraordinary! Last year we also launched a card-writing pilot project where 4th grade students had the opportunity to write messages of support or care to members of the BES community on special Caring Bears stationery and we hope to expand that project this year.

We are looking for eager parents who would like to join our group - no huge time commitments are required. If you are interested in becoming a Caring Bear, please send an email to caringbears@beaumonthsa.org with your name, email address and your child(ren)'s name(s) and grade(s) and Becky Ormsbee will get back to you!

Also, if you know of a student or staff member who deserves special recognition, or if you know someone who is struggling and could use a little extra TLC, send an email to the Beaumont Caring Bears and we will make sure that person is shown some extra BES attention!  All submissions can be sent to caringbears@beaumonthsa.org and a member of the committee will follow up. Please include the student or staff member’s name, grade, and any information you would like us to know. Thanks so much for your help with this special initiative!

NEW CLASSROOM SIGNS

Thanks to the hard work and fundraising the of the BES HSA, the HSA was able to help Beaumont purchase new signage for each room in the building. They were installed this week! This enhances the security of our school in case of emergencies and allows for staff and students to easily find their away around the building.

THE BEAR FUND

Beaumont HSA has created to Bear Fund in order raise money for contributions towards our school. This year we are excited to campaign for the replacement of the Spider playground equipment. Please consider making our Beaumont HSA a recipient of your charitable contribution.  The Beaumont HSA is a registered 501(c)(3) organization so 100% of your gift is tax deductible. You could possibly double your gift if your company has a matching gifts program! Thank you so much for your support and contributions!

Thanks for helping make Beaumont green!
