EQUITY INITIATIVE AND CURRICULAR INQUIRY PROCESS PRESENTATIONS AT TEMS AND VFMS

The Tredyffrin Easttown School District remains committed to our Equity Initiative and to providing a safe learning community where all members belong by cultivating and celebrating our individuality and respecting each other and our differences. As part of that commitment, we are excited to share a highlight of our work and engage parents in a meaningful discussion.

You are invited to attend a presentation highlighting our District’s Curricular Inquiry Process on Tuesday, November 29th from 6:30-8:30pm.   The session will be held at Valley Forge Middle School. The presenters will review the district’s work on the Equity Initiative and there will be many opportunities to participate and ask questions.

Dr. Rich Gusick, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Oscar Torres, T/E’s Director of Equity and Public Programs, and Dr. Wendy Towle, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Staff Development and Planning will share information and examples of the framework of TESD’s Equity Initiative and how, through critical thinking and inquiry, the initiative may show up in the secondary classrooms.  There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

This will be an interactive discussion, so we are formatting the first session to include 40 participants. If we have more parents/guardians interested in attending, we will be able to schedule future sessions.  Please sign up by emailing Casey Egan at eganc@tesd.net by Friday, November 18, 2022.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CORNER
VETERAN’S DAY THANK YOU NOTES!

This month, Beaumont’s third and fourth grade students wrote thank you cards to veterans to honor them and express gratitude for their service to our country this Veteran’s Day. These cards were distributed at a Veteran’s Day event at Surrey Services in Devon on November 11th. We are so glad our students had this opportunity to engage with seniors in our community!

T&E CARE

Tredyffrin and Easttown Care (T&E Care) is a local non-profit operated solely by volunteers who help families in our own community.  Most of the support is for one-time assistance to get someone over a hump who might be struggling due to low income, divorce, job loss, a medical situation, or other emergency. T&E Care (1) pays one-time bills such as rent, PECO, daycare, medical, or car repairs, (2) provides budgeting and HR assistance, and (3) searches for donated furniture, clothing, and even cars.  This is all done while maintaining a high level of confidentiality for our neighbors.  T&E Care also has the following programs: Meal Assistance Program, College Assistance Program, Summer Camp Program and Computers for Kids.

Consider supporting T&E Care!  T&E Care is partnering with Beaumont HSA for a Holiday Drive in November and a School Supply Drive in the Spring so stay tuned for ways to contribute.  To become more involved, check out the T&E Care www.tecare.org to volunteer, to donate or be added to the T&E Care Newsletter.  T&E Care is also on Facebook and Instagram.

If your family needs support from T&E Care, please go to www.tecare.org and click on the green button for more information and to complete an assistance form.  T&E Care is here to support our neighbors.

GREEN CORNER
PUMPKIN COMPOSTING EVENT

The Easttown Library will be offering pumpkin composting with Back to Earth composting from 12-2pm on Saturday, November 19th. Small pumpkins ($1) to large pumpkins ($3) will be collected and saved from the landfill!

THANK YOU!

Thank you to all of the students and parent volunteers who helped with the BES garden this year. Beaumont grew 222lbs of food for Chester County food cupboards!

TRICK OR TRASH

Bring in your Halloween candy wrappers and deposit them in the Trick or Trash recycling box! A blue collection bin is located in the cafeteria, so you can send empty wrappers in with your student until the bin is full.
