BES BLAST
FEBRUARY 18, 2024
No School Monday, February 19th

School will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 19th for the President's Day holiday.

The Beaumont School Store Is Back!!

Attention 4th Graders (and 4th grade parents)!!!

The BES School Store is back. The Store will be open on Monday afternoons from 3:40 - 4:10PM and Tuesday mornings from 8:30 - 9:10AM each week from now through May in the BES Lobby.

We welcome shoppers from all grades - CASH ONLY!

If you're a 4th grader (or a 4th grade parent) and would like to work a shift, we have revised our SignUp Genius. We would like to have two parent helpers and up to four 4th grade students working at each shift (note that a student can be registered to work at the Store even if their parent cannot attend as long as there is another parent volunteer signed up to staff the Store).

February is quite full, so while students may now sign up for ONE second shift, please reserve those second shifts until March or April so all students and families have a chance to participate. Thanks for your support!

Beaumont Elementary School HSA has decided to hold a Read-a-thon this year!

Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-a-thon starts Monday February 26, 2024.

About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.

We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/323738353533/1 and following the simple instructions.

We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

We hope EVERYONE participates.

Help Support Our School!

In the past several years, donations from the HSA have funded the purchase of new benches for the playground, classroom signs and more. Donations also fund cultural arts programs and library purchases.

This year, the teachers and staff at Beaumont have asked for help supplying the following items:

  • Flexible Seating for the classrooms (ie rocking style chairs) ~$500

  • Sets of individual, small lap-size white boards for students in 3rd grade ~$650

  • Poster maker to reinforce concepts with visuals in the classroom ~$6,000

We would love your support in providing these important items for our school. Donations can be accepted via Paypal http://paypal.me/besbears, and through our new website, https://beaumonthsa.membershiptoolkit.com/bearfund. The Beaumont HSA is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for considering the Beaumont HSA in your end of year giving.

Villanova University Soccer Clinic

On Sunday, March 3rd, from 10am-1pm, we are holding our Villanova University Soccer Clinic!

Open to both boys and girls, the event will feature notable Villanova athletes — Jackie Richards and Branden Johns, among others — who will lead a skills training session and team play, concluding with a panel to speak with the players about student-athlete life at the Division I level. This event will take place at Steelyard Sports Complex, 538 Swedeland Rd, King of Prussia, PA 19406

This is an incredible opportunity for your boys and girls, who will not only develop as athletes but learn about the collegiate athlete experience. Spots are limited, and we would greatly appreciate you passing this along to your young athletes and their families.

Here's the link for sign up:

We also offer a discount code - NOVA10 - $10 off for youth athletes referred through their organization.

We're thrilled to bring this event to the Philadelphia area and look forward to meeting the boys and girls of your community there.
