SUBJECT: BES BLAST

BES BLAST
NOVEMBER 23, 2026

4th grade is such a special year at Beaumont with fourth graders in their final year of elementary school. Many special events are specifically tailored to the fourth graders including:

  • Residency Week
  • School Store
  • Talent Show
  • Commencement Party
  • 4th grade signs
  • 4th grade yearbook pages

Of course, we cannot have these amazing events without volunteers to help plan and run them!! The Talent Show and 4th grade yearbook pages are low on volunteers and in order to have these events, we will need people to sign up.

Talent Show

We need co-chairs and a committee of volunteers to help plan and run the event.

The Talent Show is typically held in May and two shows are performed: one in the morning for students/teachers and a second show in the afternoon for parents. Only Fourth graders can sign up for the Talent Show to showcase a "talent' or they can sign up as backstage crew. Talents can be anything: dancing, singing, magic tricks, jump roping, jokes, etc. Co-chairs will work alongside committee volunteers to help plan the Talent Show. Responsibilities include:

  • Soliciting and organizing 4th graders interested in performing a talent, Mcing the show or helping backstage during the show.
  • Organizing and conducting 2-3 practices in May from 4:00-5:30pm.
  • Organizing the music choices chosen by the students for their acts. Music software apps can help with this.
  • Creating and organizing a program detailing the order of the show, what props are being used for each act, what music is being played for each act, etc. We have PDF examples of what was used last year.
  • Designing a script that the MCs use for the Talent Show. Again, we have PDF examples of what was used last year.
  • Conducting 2 shows using the amazing group of 4th graders!!

4th Grade Yearbook Pages

The Yearbook & Photography chairs need help with getting content of the 4th grade class to fill yearbook pages. Fourth graders have the most pages in the yearbook: group photos on the YMCA field trip, baby photos, capturing 4th graders at school, special events/field trips and coordinating with 4th grade teachers to photograph 4th graders with "When I grow up" posters. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with Mary Kay Attanasi and Lauren Hidlenbrand, our co -chairs for Photography and Yearbook.
  • Taking pictures of 4th graders at various events: field trips, assemblies, classroom parties, spirit days, etc. Sending pictures to the online drop mailbox.
  • Collecting and organizing baby pictures for each 4th grader for inclusion in the yearbook.
  • Coordinating a schedule with 4th grade teachers to photograph "When I grow up" posters for each 4th grader. Taking "When I grow up" pictures and sending them to the online drop mailbox.

CULTERAL ARTS
SECOND GRADE ASSEMBLY

Beaumont's second graders loved this week's fun (and funny!) assembly with Paul Taylor, the Educational Programs Manager at the American Helicopter Museum.

Paul presented "Forces of Flight," an experiment-packed program that introduced our students to core science concepts like: lift, thrust, drag, and action/reaction. He demonstrated how these forces help airplanes, helicopters, and even rockets fly!
