Reminder: Emergency Closing Information

Reminder: Emergency Closing Information

TESD buildings are closed on Monday, January 26.  You will receive information about a delay or closure for Tuesday, if necessary, and any future days when the weather forces the closing of schools, on the T/E Information Hotline and an automated message will also be sent to parents through the TE All-Call phone notification system. You may also check for closing information here.

The Emergency Closing Day Plan includes primarily emergency virtual instruction days.  Note this change from previous years: the first emergency closing day is NOT a traditional snow day.

Students will participate in Virtual Instruction on Monday, January 26.

Emergency Closing Day Information

Hello Beaumont Families,

The most comprehensive guide to what takes place is available at the District’s Website: Emergency Closing Information

I’ve posted some information below from the District’s website regarding two-hour delays and a modified Kindergarten Schedule.  I’ve also posted the schedule for the virtual days.

Notably, there is an FAQ on the District website that includes information on setting up your child(ren)’s iPad for instruction through Microsoft Teams and Schoology as well as information about accessing the schedule through a device other than the District-issued iPad.  Here is a link to the page with the FAQ: Emergency Closing Day Information - Tredyffrin/Easttown School District

As always, please reach out to your teacher, the office, or me with any questions.  Have a great day.

In the event of a two-hour delay, school will begin two hours after the school's regularly scheduled start time. Kindergarten classes will follow the modified kindergarten schedule below on two-hour delay days.

Modified Kindergarten Schedule for Two-Hour Delays
AM and PM kindergarten sessions will follow a modified schedule on days when inclement weather results in a 2-hour delayed opening. Each kindergarten session will be reduced by 1 hour when there is a delayed opening to provide equal instructional time for both sessions.

AM kindergarten classes will begin at 11:10 am and will conclude at the modified pick-up time of 1:05 pm. Parents of PM kindergarten students should drop their children off at the modified start time of 1:50 pm. School dismissal time for PM kindergarten students remains at 3:45 pm. As a result, AM kindergarten students who use bus transportation to school will be picked up at their bus stops 2 hours later than usual, and PM kindergarten students will ride the bus home at their regularly scheduled time. Parents are asked to make note of the change in the mid-day pick-up and drop-off times on days when there is a 2-hour delayed opening.

Modified Kindergarten Schedule
AM Kindergarten: 11:10 am – 1:05 pm
PM Kindergarten: 1:50 pm – 3:45 pm

During flexible instructional days (virtual), cycle days will advance as usual at the elementary and middle school levels. There will be a modified class schedule with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction at all levels. Students will begin the flexible instructional day by logging into Schoology by 9:30 AM for attendance.

Kindergarten Schedule:
Kindergarten students will meet for one, 30-minute live synchronous session for language arts or math:

  • 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: AM kindergarten language arts or math
  • 10:45 AM - 11:15 AM: PM kindergarten language arts or math

Asynchronous work may be completed as needed during the remainder of the school day.

Elementary School Schedule (Grades 1-4):
The elementary schedule will include two, 30-minute live synchronous sessions for language arts and math:

  • 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: language arts or math
  • 10:15 AM – 10:45 AM: language arts or math (whichever was not held during the first class period)

Special areas and support teachers will post learning activities for the classes they would have had during the regular school day on the six-day cycle.

Asynchronous work may be completed as needed during the remainder of the school day.

Best wishes,

Dr. Stephanie Demming

BES Principal
