AUTISIM ACCEPTANCE WEEK - APRIL 13-17

Autism Acceptance Month is observed annually to promote inclusion, awareness, and acceptance of autistic individuals. Originally known as Autism Awareness Month (since 1970), the focus has shifted in recent years, led by organizations such as the Autism Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN), to emphasize that true inclusion begins with acceptance.

Throughout April, organizations like the Autism Society of America work to provide education about autism, helping increase understanding of the experiences, strengths, and challenges within the autistic community. Most importantly, this month reminds us to listen to and learn from autistic voices, encourages us to celebrate differences, promote inclusion, and value neurodiversity in our everyday lives.

During our Spirit Week, we have planned themed days and activities that encourage participation, learning, and celebration. We hope everyone will join in as we work together to build a more inclusive and supportive community.
